About KJ
I have been an active person a majority of my life. I went through many phases of what I believed to be “ways to stay fit”. Phases like: Dance, Cheerleading, Aerobics, Yoga. All were fun, and all were pleasant experiences. However, I didn’t know then what I know now…”CROSSFIT”. It to me is the ultimate FITNESS experience. I can mention many reasons this program is ideal to most. It is full of variety! It is full of great people supporting other great people! It is packed with functional movements….movements we use in our everyday lives! It builds strength, endurance, flexibility, agility, etc….! It is the epitome of what FIT really means! This journey to CrossFit started in 2009 on a Saturday where I was introduced to my first BURPEE and I have been HOOKED ever since. I remember that day vividly. I walked into an old warehouse (OLD CFOIB) and realized right away that I knew 95% of the people there….why they were keeping this a secret from me has yet to be revealed….Wink: Larry, Glenn, Calvin! Needless to say, that day was the first day of the rest of my life. I, in turn, tell EVERYONE I know about this wonderful place. I decided to go to my first Level 1 certification in 2010 with the encouragement from Coach Karen Candia. Thank you, Karen! Now I have a family involved in this fitness venture with me, they inspire me to continually improve myself through hard work, dedication and positive attitudes. The atmosphere is exciting to me and pushes me through my so-called “limits”. COME IN – JOIN US – CHALLENGE YOURSELF!
