Chris Jernigan is a competitive CrossFitter and a Strength and Conditioning coach from the Lake Waccamaw, NC area. His background includes 17+ years of experience in the Special Operations community and 10 combat deployments. Chris spent 10 of those years on active duty with the 75th Ranger Regiment and continues his service as a Department of Defense civilian assigned to the US Army Special Operations Command.
While continuing to serve his country, Chris was also a CrossFit affiliate owner and head coach for 3 years. As head coach, Chris coached daily group classes and continuously sought education to improve the results for his clients. As an OPEX CCP coach, Olympic weightlifting coach, and CrossFit Level 1, he carried this knowledge, along with his experience to his clients. Chris continuously seeks additional knowledge and training ideas from every type of sports training. Through this education, Chris has developed a passion for working with individuals, and enjoys the challenges associated with individual training. It is through his passion for individual design that Chris comes to CrossFit Ocean Isle Beach as an Individual Design coach. His services are offered mostly as remote services, however, you will occasionally see him onsite training working with some of his clients or training for a competition with Coach K. Chris’s programs focus on developing a balance in an individuals’ absolute strength, corrective exercise for injuries, and sport specific programs based on client desires. These programs are different than typical CrossFit however, they are applicable to general fitness and any sport.
Chris has clients that range from the individual who is preparing for a Special Operations selection event, to competitive CrossFitters and several who recently achieved their first pull-up.
